Tons of hot dogs and waffles

Thousands of spectators enjoyed themselves at Holmenkollen during the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. A total of 70 000 waffles, 3,5 tons of stew and 44 000 liters of coffee were sold at the arena, while 80 tons of bonfire wood bundles were sold at the outer race course area. Beneath are some interesting sales figures from the days of the championships.

Servering of food and beverage within the venue:

  • 3,5 tons of stew
  • 2 tons of waffles, ie 70 000 waffles
  • 5 tons of hot dogs
  • 45 000 ”boller”, ie baked goods
  • Approx. 44 000 liters of coffee and 11 000 liters of hot cocoa
  • 4 tons of mashed almond potatoes
  • 1,4 tons of reindeer
  • 2,8 tons of vegetable soup


Sales by Frognerseteren – the outer race course:

  • 80 tons of bonfire wood, ie 5330 bundles
  • 1200 cups (carved out of wood)
  • The surplus of NOK 200 000 was donated to Right to Play organisation
