With many afternoon events, two evening ski jumping competitions and several events per day, everything is pointing to a huge spectator turnout during the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships at Holmenkollen this winter. Ticket sales started September 1.

Hamar Catering won the tender to supply all the food during the WSC in 2011. This means that the company will supply 7000 people with food several times daily for 11 days.
Never before has a WSC city had more hotel beds to offer so close to the arena as Oslo. Ski-VM 2011 has signed agreements with all of 36 hotels in connection with the championships.
The official invitation to the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships was sent out 1 July to all Nordic ski Nations. The invitation includes information for the teams about the competition program, the venue, the City of Oslo as well as miscellanous practical information. The first deadline for team registration is in October
Tickets to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 will go on sale September 1st. Interest among the public is keen, both in Norway and in other countries. With an exciting programme of races, a large number of afternoon events and several price categories, tickets are expected to be snapped up quickly.
The FIS World Ski Championships (WSC) are going to be the high point of the season for both Marit Bjørgen and Therese Johaug. "Having the WSC here in Norway is an incredible experience and the only opportunity to compete in a major championship on our home turf," said the two ski stars.
The last volunteers for the World Ski Championships will be recruited in late August to early September. "We need around 800 new volunteers, in addition to those we recruited in advance of the World Cup. Volunteers are our most important resource and a key success factor", says HR manager Mari R. Nygaard.
