The "Spectator spirit project" planned by Ski-VM 2011 in the Holmenkollen national arena will generate enthusiasm, spread the joy of winter and reflect the diversity of modern Norway. Groups, organizations and teams can apply.
The "Spectator spirit project", like most of the WSC event, depends on unpaid volunteers. Participants must also arrange their own lodging.
Volunteer performers in the "Spectator spirit project" must meet the following criteria:
• Be able to get to the arena with their equipment and materials via public transportation
• Be able to provide all their own technical support
• Performances cannot be dangerous, damaging or offensive in any way to the public
• All performers must be 18 years of age or older, or accompanied by a parent or guardian
• Be available to Ski-VM 2011 for a full day between 24 February - 6 March 2011
• Be crowd-friendly and able to spread enthusiasm and winter joy in order to create the best ever Nordic World Ski Championships
The application deadline is 1 December. Application form will be available from Wednsday 20 Octobre.

FACTS about the "Spectator spirit project":Performances will be held in the public area every day during the entire WSC. So there is a need for many different performances that can build enthusiasm and winter joy. None of the performances will conflict with the official programme (sporting events and ceremonies) and none will be published or announced in advance. Each performer will be allocated one area on one specific day. Here they will entertain during two to five shifts that last from 15 minutes to two hours. The total performance time during a day will be around four hours. FIVE THEME DAYS The entire project will be crowned with five theme days.
