Gradual wind-down

24.03.2011

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to create a fantastic 12-day celebration. We have achieved this together with great partners, athletes, 2200 competent volunteers and enthusiastic spectators.

We in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships organization are currently working on evaluations and final reports. At the same time the organization is being gradually dismantled. Some have already left, while the remainder will withdraw on an ongoing basis until June 2011.

Website
Our website will live on until the summer, albeit with somewhat less activity. In the summer the site will be locked, such that it may act as a reference and historical archive.

The Nordic World Ski Championships pavilion
The 2011 Nordic World Ski Championships leases the site from Oslo municipality until 1 July 2011. After this it is up to Oslo municipality, together with the building owner, to determine what to do with the pavilion. The pavilion rests on a sheet of material to prevent damage to the ground.

The actual building, designed by Snøhetta, is owned by Arthur Buchardt. The building is environmentally-friendly and module-based, and is easy to dismantle and reassemble.
